Ralph lives in Pennsylvania, USA with his wife.  He is a retired U.S. Army officer with twenty years active service and has had a lifelong interest in military history and equipment.  He is fluent in Italian, and has written several of books and magazine articles on Italian equipment, and has also translated a number of books from Italian to English.  He has also developed a keen interest in Irish military history and equipment and continues to seek information on lesser-known aspects of both Irish and Italian military related subjects.
